A chimney company that works one county, properly
Tappan Chimney Sweep covers Rockland County — Tappan, Orangeburg, Blauvelt, the river villages down through Piermont and Palisades, and up into Nyack, Nanuet and New City. That is deliberately a small patch. It means our techs know the housing stock here: the pre-war frame houses with unlined flues, the stone stacks that take the weather off the Hudson, and the 1960s ranches where a gas conversion was done without relining.
Every job runs the same way. We look before we quote, we photograph what we find, and we tell you what can wait as readily as what cannot. Most chimney work is not urgent — but water damage compounds every winter, and a blocked flue is genuinely dangerous. Knowing which is which is the whole job.
We work to NFPA 211 and our sweeps are CSIA-trained. We are licensed and insured, and we will happily send the paperwork before we come out.
What “done properly” means here
NFPA 211
The national standard for chimneys, fireplaces, vents and solid-fuel appliances. It governs inspection levels, clearances and liner requirements — and it is what our reports are written against.
CSIA-trained techs
Chimney Safety Institute of America training means a tech who can tell you why a flue is drafting badly, not just that it needs sweeping.
Documented findings
Camera footage and photos on every visit, with a written report. It is the difference between a recommendation and an opinion.
